Anticus Engineering is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Manager for our Ruskin office. This a
salaried full-time position. Position will require working in the office/laboratory setting, with some outdoor work (must
physically be able to lift and manage equipment weighing 60 pounds). Must have excellent communication skills and
be able to interact with engineers, consultants, contractors and technicians. A Professional Engineering License is
required. Valid and clean driver license required. Clean background required.
The Construction Materials Testing Manager will schedule, manage, coordinate, and supervise technical field staff for
various types of construction inspection and testing, to include earthwork and concrete along with other various
materials.
Responsibilities include the following:
Prepare and coordinate with the technician staff the schedules for projects. Review, interpret and finalize reports from
the field (concrete, soils, asphalt testing reports), communicating directly with the field staff and PM.
Maintain laboratory, this includes ensuring equipment is in working order, all equipment is calibrated as scheduled,
maintaining a clean laboratory, maintaining field and laboratory supplies, maintaining certifications of laboratory and
individual technicians.
Interpret construction documents (plans and specs), as well as other various technical specifications and relay pertinent
information to field technicians and PM as needed.
Regularly assist in solving problems encountered by technicians in the field, delegate tasks, and provide training when
necessary.
Manage and perform in-house laboratory testing efforts and subsequent data related to soils, concrete, and asphalt
Prepare, review, and send documentation of field activities, observations, and testing on construction projects, and
their conformance with (or deviation from) project plans and specifications to PM for final review and submittal.
Occasionally perform site visits for meetings and to perform testing or train technicians.
Developing and maintaining a local client base, including preparing proposals, and occasionally soliciting new work
and/or clients. Prepare and submit proposals, attend pre-bid meetings, and interact with clients
