Our company designs and installs projects for a wide range of Government, Commercial, Industrial, Educational, Medical, Institutional and Retail facilities across the United States.
Summary: The Construction Manager manages large scale utility metering projects to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s safety plan, quality standards, established specifications, schedules, and budgets; coordinates site functions to minimize delays; meets with Operations Manager on a regular basis to review project status and plan future actions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee all phases of utility metering installation or replacement projects across multiple sites.
- Act as the primary point of contact between clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Travel frequently to various project locations to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues or delays.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to subordinate construction managers, site supervisors, and staff.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks across all locations.
- Troubleshoot issues on-site and develop rapid solutions to keep projects on track.
- Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of projects following a logical pattern for utilization of resources and ensures that activities are conducted in accordance with the scope of work requirements.
- Interfaces with customers on schedules, meetings, and problems. Keeps the customer informed of the project status.
- Coordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project. Oversees their performance and reviews engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.
- Is responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and assuring that all necessary permits and licenses are available.
- Reports to the Operations Manager about progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated.
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Directs and measures technicians with respect to production volume, quality, and housekeeping and safety practices.
- Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of production workers.
- Performs daily quality audits.
- Establishes daily schedules and activities to support the project.
- Conducts safety and group meetings as required.
- Recommends the hiring and releasing of production technicians as required to maintain project timeline.
- Assures that material, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
- Organizes storage and maintains a perpetual inventory record.
- Promotes good employee relations and recommend disciplinary measures when required.
- Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices.
- Prepares reports and advises management of the project status and problems (or potential problems) on a regular basis. Develops and submits recovery plan for approval.
- Anticipates potential schedule or priority delays and initiates plans for alternative actions.

- Fluent in use of work order management systems, such as Ensight+
- Considerable planning is required.
- Understanding functions are essential to ensure that project schedules and objectives are met.
- Requires both administrative and technical knowledge and frequent interaction with upper management, employees, and customers.
- Originality and initiative are important as well as the ability to work under unusual or extreme pressures.

Education/Experience:
- Associates’ Degree (A.A.); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in interpreting industry standard Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) Codes.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Current Driver’s License
- OSHA 30 Hour Safety Course
- CPR & First Aid
- Aerial/Forklift Certification
- Lockout/Tagout
- Fall Protection
- NFPA70E Certification
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises 10-50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
