Job Description

️ Freelance Construction Manager

Location: Greater Hamburg area Contract Type: Freelance / Project-Based Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)

Project Overview

Currently we are looking for a Construction Manager for one of Europe's most ambitious infrastructure projects. It includes road and rail links, tunnel portals, and extensive marine and civil works. As a freelance Construction Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering this landmark project to world-class standards.

️ Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction activities across assigned work packages
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure timely and safe execution
• Monitor progress, quality, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
• Lead site meetings, report on milestones, and resolve on-site issues proactively
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
• Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and local authorities
• Support risk management, cost control, and schedule optimization

Qualifications & Experience

• Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field background
• Minimum 8 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or marine construction
• Proven track record managing multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
• Strong understanding of European construction regulations and safety standards
• Fluent in English; German skills are a plus
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, BIM)
