Job Description:

This person is the primary on-site leader responsible for supervising workers and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Acting as the "glue" between field laborers and upper management. They are also responsible for installation and management of construction/landscape and hardscape projects. This person is also responsible for helping with estimating, completing projects and installations with great precision and business minded efficiency.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Site Supervision: Oversee all daily operations, opening the job site each morning and assigning specific tasks to crews and subcontractors based on priorities.
  • Safety Enforcement: Champion a "safety-first" culture by conducting "toolbox talks," enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and other regulations.
  • Schedule & Budget Management: Create and maintain daily/weekly work schedules, monitor crew attendance, and track expenditures for labor, supplies, and tools to prevent cost overruns.
  • Quality Control: Inspect work in progress to ensure it matches blueprints, specifications, and quality standards, addressing any errors or structural issues immediately.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed daily logs and progress reports for management, documenting work accomplished, material usage, and any safety incidents or delays.
  • Resource Coordination: Manage the delivery and storage of materials and oversee the maintenance and proper use of heavy machinery and equipment. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and schematics is essential.
  • Leadership: Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills are needed to manage diverse teams and solve disputes between workers or subcontractors.
  • Experience: Require 2–5+ years of construction experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or "lead" position. Experience in various heavy equipment operation is required.
