We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join a major civil engineering delivery team, overseeing complex infrastructure works across multiple active sites. This role is central to ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery across earthworks, drainage, and structural packages.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Construction Manager, you will lead and coordinate a team of Non-Working Supervisors (NWS) and Frontline Supervisors (FLS), working alongside site operatives to deliver works safely, on time, and to specification.\n\nYou will take responsibility for ensuring a strong safety culture, effective communication, and consistent implementation of safe systems of work across your area.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and manage site supervisors and ensure safe, compliant delivery of works\nOversee implementation and adherence to safe systems of work\nCarry out regular site inspections, identify hazards, and ensure corrective actions are closed out\nEnsure toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings are delivered to a high standard\nMonitor workforce performance, quality standards, and site compliance\nCoordinate plant, materials, and equipment, ensuring efficient site logistics\nSupport project planning and provide technical input into programmes\nMaintain accurate site records, allocation sheets, and inspection documentation\nLiaise closely with Project Managers on progress, workforce performance, and delivery issues\nDrive health & safety compliance, including PPE adherence and welfare standards\nIdentify and resolve site issues, contributing to technical and practical solutions\nMonitor plant usage, off-hire/on-hire processes, and cost control awareness\nPromote high standards of housekeeping, site organisation, and waste control\nSupport onboarding, training, and development of site teams and apprentices\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nProven experience in a Construction Manager or Senior Site Supervisor role within civil engineering\nStrong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, deep excavation, sheet piling, and temporary works systems\nExperience managing safe systems of work and exclusion zones\nStrong understanding of health & safety legislation and site compliance requirements\nAbility to lead and develop site teams, including supervisors and operatives\nGood commercial awareness and understanding of programme and cost implications\nStrong communication and leadership skills\nAbility to manage multiple priorities across active sites\n\nWhy Apply:\n\nWork on major civil engineering infrastructure projects across the UK\nStrong pipeline of long-term secured work\nOpportunity to lead diverse, technically challenging packages\nSupportive team environment with focus on development and progressionIf you are an experienced Construction Manager looking for a hands-on leadership role within complex civil engineering environments, we would like to hear from you
