THIS IS A TRAVEL ROLE AND TRAVEL IS BASED ON PROJECT ASSIGNMENT(S). TRAVEL OF 4+ CONSECUTIVE WEEKS MAY BE REQUIRED DEPENDING ON PROJECT AND LOCATION.
THIS ROLE MAY BE FILLED AS A LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2, OR SENIOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This individual is a people person, capable of handling daily challenges with high levels of emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills. You’ll be responsible for promptly reviewing the team’s time each week, approving time, PTO, and per diem. This person will also be responsible for upskilling their team, training them on anything from job processes and expectations to safety, systems usage, and more.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Ensure safe work amongst your entire team at all times, no exceptions.
- Layout jobs with crews and walk them to make sure they know what is to be done.
- Discuss ROW and utilities.
- White line the location prior to the crew’s arrival onsite. Confirm the type of equipment which is needed at that location.
- Plan work and forecast crews, where they are going, and how long they should be at each location. Set expectations for your team(s).
- Customer liaison to ensure we’re delivering as expected.
- Observe work to ensure production numbers are being met.
- Plan accordingly: there may be rainouts or too wet, so always be ready to have a backup plan (or more).
- Direct and assign Quality to any issues on the site. Ensure they’re where they need to be at the right times to prevent bottlenecks.
- Approve team’s time, PTO, and per diem promptly so payroll isn’t held up. Time should be reviewed daily to prevent downstream issues.
- Review reports regularly with Project Manager and/or Superintendent to ensure finished and checked work is being accounted for timely.
- Generate deployment and coordinate with Project Manager to ensure Master Workflow file is updated timely.
- Respond to and investigate any work-related incidents, auto or GL.
- Investigate reasonable suspicion claims.
- Build daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly production reports for senior management visibility and dashboards.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, construction, finance, or related field from an accredited 4-year university is .
- Construction Management Certification is .
- At least 5 years’ experience in utilities construction is required.
- 2+ years prior supervisory experience is required.
- Proven experience leading teams in the utilities construction environment, including but not limited to success in operations and safety.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to focus on details while still operating within tight deadlines.
- Proficient communication skills.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- Outdoors environment which may require exposure to elements, including but not limited to wind, rain, heat, cold, snow, sleet, mud, etc.

- Extended periods of standing on your feet may be required.
- May be required to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, or other job-related pre-hire screenings related to the job.
- This position may require regular, overnight travel for extended periods of time (4+ consecutive weeks).
