Primary Position Objective

Manage a portfolio of construction loans from initial funding through construction completion and conversion to permanent financing. Ensure all loans are serviced and draw requests are processed in strict accordance with documented terms and contractual obligations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret commercial loan documents to ensure servicing and funding of draw requests align with loan terms.
  • Review and approve monthly draw submissions, including AIA G702 Application and Certificate for Payment and G703 Continuation Sheet, for hard cost funding of multi-family developments.
  • Analyze, and approve, invoices and supporting documentation for development expenditures.
  • Create and maintain organized construction loan files in accordance with policy.
  • Review third-party inspection reports for completeness and accuracy, obtaining corrections when necessary.
  • Request and review commercial title insurance endorsements to confirm clear, lien-free title.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve procedures to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize workflows.
  • Maintain production reports to track and analyze department volume, capacity, and efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain policy and process changes to ensure compliance with contractual obligations
  • Communicate effectively with staff and clients.
  • Meet established timelines and deadlines based on client needs and department workflow.

Supervisory Requirements:

  • Foster a positive, high-morale environment aligned with the organization’s Vision, Mission, Values, Goals, and Objectives (VMVGO).
  • Manage department staff through employee evaluations, training, and coaching to strengthen professional skills, and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Provide direction, feedback, and coaching to staff as needed. Establish and then implement annual departmental and employee goals; monitor and measure performance against those goals.
  • Assesses staff development needs and career paths; make recommendations for advancement as appropriate.

Independent Judgment:

  • Determine sufficiency and accuracy of information provided for construction draw requests.
  • Identify potential issues, inconsistencies, errors or defaults that may impact funding.
  • Clearly communicate identified issues with clients and management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ experience in construction loan administration or construction accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial loan documentation.
  • Experience reviewing AIA G702 Application and Certificate for Payment and a G703 Continuation Sheet.
  • Knowledge of construction accounting procedures.
  • Familiarity with Davis Bacon and Section 3 ( but not required).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt, manage deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
