Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a Construction Litigation Associate with 2 + years of experience in civil/commercial litigation and/or construction law to join a well-established and growing Construction Department at a respected law firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an associate who is eager to take ownership of matters, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and grow within a sophisticated construction litigation practice.

Overview

As a Construction Litigation Associate, you will play a key role in providing legal guidance and support on complex construction-related disputes. Working closely with partners and senior attorneys, you will handle matters involving construction defects, contract disputes, and other construction-related litigation while contributing to strategic case development and client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of construction litigation matters from inception through resolution under partner supervision
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on construction, commercial, and civil litigation issues
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and memoranda of law
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Appear in court for hearings, status conferences, and motion arguments
  • Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials, arbitrations, and mediations as needed
  • Draft and review construction-related contracts, agreements, and legal documents
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams
  • Stay current on developments in construction law and related areas

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Florida Bar (federal court admission )
  • 2 +years of civil/commercial litigation and/or construction litigation experience
  • Construction law experience, particularly in construction defect and construction-related disputes, strongly
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Courtroom and deposition experience required
  • Strong legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
