Civil Construction Foreman

Job Purpose: The Foreman is responsible for specific site coordination and administrative functions.
This position is primarily a hands-on role and is a secondary field contact for projects.
The Foreman is the primary field contact for the project if a Superintendent is not
assigned to the project.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Perform CMS preconstruction duties including layout, site facilities and
coordination of deliveries. - Ensure proper field documentation is in the field.
- Assist Superintendent/General Superintendent with scheduling manpower and
equipment. - Monitor production and clearly and consistently report results and status daily
to the Superintendent/General Superintendent/Project Manager. - Monitor and control all safety and PPE.
- Coordinate subcontractors.
- Place will-calls for concrete.
- Take off materials.
- Release materials for delivery, confirm delivery against Purchase Order.
- Keep PA One Call current.
- Generate 10-day schedules.
- Cost code packing slips.
- Complete T&M/change sheets as needed.
- Complete and maintain correct detailed daily reports, morning huddles,
accident/incident/near miss reports. - Provide feedback on conflicting information between plans and specs and field
conditions. - Record and communicate any value engineering information that may affect
work. - Recognize and resolve site issues for the good of site completion.
- Ensure employee and truck driver hours match daily log hours.
- Weekly reports of project information.
- Ensure daily maintenance tickets are filled out for all CMS equipment.
- Understand and use all forms provided in the foreman manual correctly.
- Take photographic documentation and transfer to Foundation software
- Ensure and enforce OSHA regulations.
- Proper discipline of team members including documentation and
accountability for infractions of company procedures. - Provide employee evaluations as necessary
- Maintain company property including trucks and tools in clean, neat, and
organized fashion. - Demonstrate and communicate the CMS vision and culture.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Thorough understanding of contracts and documents, specifically project plans
and specifications, estimate bid including production and quality control.
Strong understanding of equipment and manpower utilization for project sites.
Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to
others.
Maintain and exemplify a positive attitude and work atmosphere in all
situations.
Ability to provide supervision, operate, demonstrate proper operations and
maintenance of construction equipment, such as skid steer, excavator, roller,
laser, auto level and total station as well as power tools and basic hand tools.
Strong leadership skills and accountability exemplify and maintain positive
culture.
Team player treating and encouraging team members with respect.
Display high levels of organization.
Ability to understand and use basic computer programs including email and
MS Office.
Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, OSHA and ADA guidelines.
Ability to acquire and maintain DOT physical for company vehicle use.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to secure supplies and files
Digital dexterity and eye/hand coordination in the operation of equipment
Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying of material up to 80lbs.
Ability to withstand varying weather typical in the region of work
