Estimator Assistant

Job Purpose: Quantity take-off estimator.

Campbell Beard Roofing, one of Denver’s longest established roofing companies, is now looking for a new team member to assist the Estimating Department. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the residential construction industry: aptitude for estimating. We will train the right candidate to use our estimating systems.
The Estimator has responsibility and accountability for:
• Bidding
• Compliance with plans and specifications
• Follow up with customers.
A strong background is essential in:
• Excel
• Word
• Microsoft Office Products
• Ability to learn Excel based estimating software
• Strong computer aptitude
Responsibilities Include:
• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, downloading prints, specifications, and all related documents.
• Produces accurate quantity & cost estimates from construction documents using on-screen take-off software and excel spreadsheets
• Reviews scopes of work in all associated documents, comprehends and interprets information to assemble accurate bid proposals
• Generates Value Engineering ideas that help our clients reduce project costs without compromising quality or schedule
Required Skills:
• Ability to read, review and comprehend construction drawings and specifications
• Exceptional problem solving
• Organizational and time management skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects/deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be self-motivated
• Must be able to see projects to completion
