Highland Consulting Group, a construction specific recruiting firm specializing in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, is seeking an experienced Estimator for a stable and growing General Contractor in the Newark, NJ area. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with 5+ years of experience in general construction estimating who is looking to contribute to a growing and dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Chief Estimator in securing new projects.
- Develop master budgets and cost models across all Construction/CSI Divisions.
- Prepare hard bid and conceptual estimates for a variety of projects.
- Independently estimate change orders and ensure timely communication with the Chief Estimator.
- Maintain and enhance cost databases to improve estimating accuracy.
- Conduct value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize project efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as an Estimator for a General Contractor on projects $5M+.
- Strong background in conceptual and hard bid estimating for Design/Build projects.
- In-depth understanding of pre-construction processes, including quantity surveying and value engineering.
- Proven ability to develop accurate budgets and project timelines.
- Proficiency in industry-specific estimating software and general computer skills.
- A four-year degree in Construction Management or a related field is but not required.

- Anticipated salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 annually. As required by local law, Highland Consulting Group believes that the attached salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position.
