Position Purpose:

Construction Estimator works closely with Sales Managers to Prepare estimates for decorative metal railing systems and associated products across assigned regions for Livers Bronze LLC. This role reports to the Estimating/Sale Process Manager.  The Primary purpose of the Estimator is to analyze project requirements, review relevant data, and determine the expected costs involved.

Functional Responsibilities:

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation for accurate take off measurements and prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates in GLOBAL MRP system and PLANSWIFT take off software.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization during pricing process. Suggest alternate  products, materials, and methods that can reduce expenses.
• Secure material and Installation costs for pricing. While maintaining records of their cost estimates and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Shop Leads, Materials team, Project managers, and Drafting to procure times and estimates to establish costs for labor and materials
• Confer with Project Managers and Sales Managers to prepare change orders and adjustments to cost estimates after the job is won.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Desirable: BS Degree and 5+ years of experience working in construction estimating; intermediate skills; Takeoff Software and MRP system costing.
• Knowledge of engineering practices, mathematics, building codes and materials, manufacturing, and technology.
• Able to read and interpret Architectural drawings, sketches, and technical drawings.
• Computer skills (i.e. knowledge of MRP systems, Takeoff Software, MS Office and Internet)
• Familiarity of metal alloys (brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and steel).
• Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and listening skills.
• Perform troubleshooting to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Effectively use time, by prioritizing work and anticipating obstacles to completing assigned tasks.
