
Construction Estimator
Job DescriptionCompany currently seeking a Construction Estimator in the Central Florida area with commercial construction management experience.Successful candidates should have previous experience managing the estimating process and assisting Project Managers during pre-construction and construction phases while communicating regularly with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and municipalities.Our goal is to continue to assemble a talented, highly motivated team of individuals that enjoy being associated with quality people and a quality organization. We offer competitive compensation and benefit packages.ResponsibilitiesCommunicate timely and effectively with consultants, co-workers, sub-contractors, municipalities, and other government agencies to maintain positive relationships.Prepare pre-construction and conceptual bids.Work with subcontractors to analyze project information and cost.Perform detailed material and labor takeoff estimates for all subcontract scopes.Review and qualify subcontractor bids.Perform bid leveling sheets for subcontractor scopes on each project.· Create schedules to estimate project duration.· Create and keep a track of project cost and associated unit costs.· Redline progress drawings to provide feedback to consultants during pre-con and bidding processes.Track historical construction data for future bidding.Meet project and bid deadlines.Attend pre-bid meetings and project walkthroughs.SkillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsFunctions effectively as part of a teamAbility to develop or maintain relationships with office and field staffStrong decision making/problem solving skillsQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Engineering/Architecture or related field preferred.5+ years of estimating in commercial construction or equivalent field.Proficiency in MS Office, PlanSwift (or similar on-screen take-off software), Bluebeam, Project Management Software (Procore preferred), Microsoft Project (or similar scheduling software).Understanding of basic construction business and construction law.
