Construction Equipment Fabricator - $23-$26 per hour

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Construction Equipment Fabricator to join our team. This role involves fabricating, assembling, modifying, and repairing components for heavy construction equipment such as utility trucks, trailers, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and related machinery. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical, welding and metal working skills, understanding structural integrity and can interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble structural and mechanical components for construction equipment.
  • Perform general preparation work, including sanding and sand blasting
  • Modify or repair equipment parts and attachments using MIG, TIG, stick welding, and plasma cutting.
  • Operate fabrication tools such as shears, press brakes, grinders, drill presses, and hydraulic benders.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine specifications and build requirements.
  • Install or mount fabricated components on construction equipment as needed.
  • Inspect welds and structural components for quality, alignment, and durability.
  • Collaborate with engineers, mechanics, and other technicians to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues.
  • Repair and refinish various series of trucks and construction equipment 
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and OSHA regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school training .
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in heavy equipment fabrication, welding, or industrial metalwork.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) and metalworking tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication blueprints.
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, mechanical systems, and structural design principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications:

  • AWS (American Welding Society) certification.
  • Experience working in a construction, mining, or agricultural equipment environment.
  • Forklift and crane operation certification.

Work Environment:

  • Industrial shop or field service setting.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, welding fumes, and heavy machinery.
  • Requires PPE including welding helmet, gloves, boots, and eye/ear protection.
