Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at either the Raleigh or Charlotte, NC office/surrounding locations.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have an associates degree in engineering (or equivalent training/experience), valid Class C drivers license, and the ability to obtain required certifications for material sampling and testing.

Job Description

  • Conduct roadway and structure inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
  • Support engineers and senior inspectors with construction oversight, material sampling, and traffic control monitoring
  • Perform standardized and non-standardized field tests, collect and analyze project data, and prepare reports
  • Read and interpret construction plans, perform minor calculations, and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Assist with survey work including GPS surveying, driving stakes, and clearing sites as needed
  • Ensure adherence to safety requirements and environmental standards while working in field conditions
  • Collaborate with project teams to complete assignments on time and within budget

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent training/experience)
  • Proficiency in record keeping, plan reading, and construction surveying
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and ability to apply them to solve field problems
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and drafting software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Must hold a valid Class C Drivers License
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, or extended hours as needed
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required certifications for inspection and testing
