Mason-Grey is hiring an Construction Engineer for an exciting multi-year greenfield biologic plant engineering project. This is a long term contract opportunity supporting the engineering, design and development of the new process plant.

LOCATION: Wilson NC / Greenfield site in Wilson NC
COMPENSATION: The hourly rate is a maximum range of $58.00 to $62.00. Annualized (50 weeks / 40 hours per week, 2000 hours) range of $116,000 to $$124,000 based on actual hours worked. OT is payable at 1.5X over 40 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION/EXPERIENCE: Construction Engineer / Engineering Document Technical Reviewer
The Construction Engineer / Engineering Document Technical Reviewer is responsible for the timely and accurate technical review and approval of mechanical, electrical, instrument & control, civil, structural and architectural engineering documents; from the A/E Firm to End User. The scope of the engineering documents on this project are Vendor Turn Over Packages (VTOPs), Trade Turn Over Packages (TTOPs), Drawings and P&IDs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all turnover package documents are technically reviewed, comments raised and actioned and closed out.
- Drawings and documents will cover all disciplines – Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Civil, Structural and Architectural.
- Ensuring all turnover package documents are approved in a timely manner, to ensure timely Mechanical Completion (MC) of systems.
- Coordinating review and approval of documents as applicable with key stakeholders (e.g. Engineering, C&Q, Maintenance, Automation).
- Expediting closure of all queries and comments from document reviews.
- Working with an electronic process for management of all documents (i.e. no paper, electronic copies only).
- Adhering to project schedule targets, particularly those associated with the handover of documentation at both Mechanical Completion (Green Tag) and Commissioning and Qualification (Blue Tag) phases.
- Ensuring documents are uploaded to electronic system as they become available, in a progressive manner, to level review and approval resource requirements and prevent bottle necks.
- Tracking progress using KPIs, e.g. document submissions from vendors, % complete of each VTOP/TTOP, review and approval status, due dates for completion, etc.
- Managing an Issue Resolution tracker to be used to track all potential issues, delays, etc.
- Ensuring all turnover packs are correctly and accurately uploaded to Meridian.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Must have understanding of engineering documentation
- Experience with Autodesk, PIMS
- Must have excellent organizational skills and excellent communication skills
- Must be able to control tracking of documentation
- Will be required to communicate with construction management team
- Must have skills with Data Management and Reporting
- Must have experience with Document Control, Engineering Administration, and Large Scale Projects
- Construction Trade Turnover Package experience is essential
