Job Description / Desired Qualifications:

·         The Engineer 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree.

·         Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.

·         Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.

·         Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first

·         Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance

·         Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance

·         Understanding design practices and work processes

·         Using all software applications used in design, understanding industry and Company design standards

·         Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system

·         Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations

·         Estimating material for projects

·         Transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications.

Skillsets and Expertise required for this position:

·         Introductory engineering knowledge, basic problem-solving skills

·         Limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor

·         Basic discipline software knowledge

·         Strong work ethic

·         Positive attitude

·         The ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
