Construction Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL & Morton Grove, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time
Industry: Commercial Construction / Renovations / General Contracting

About the Role

We are seeking a Construction Engineer to assist project managers and superintendents with the daily management and coordination of construction projects to meet project objectives. An attitude and ambition to learn by doing is critical.

Responsibilities:

• Assist project manager with submittals, requests for information and tracking of project tasks.
• Meet with subcontractors to review work is being performed in compliance with their contract and scope of work.
• Assist with tracking of work completed and scheduling of tasks
• Perform quality control review of select work
• Communicate with subcontractors, superintendents and project managers to assist in project tasks

Qualifications:

• Pursuit of career in construction project management
• Ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in engineering, construction management or architecture
• Familiarity with computers and technology
• Ambitious attitude who learns by doing
• Detail-oriented and well organized

This position is full time for the duration of the summer.
