S&ME is looking for an eager and dedicated full-time Construction – Drill Technician to join our Energy team based out of our Chattanooga, Tennessee, location. The project home office is the Logan Martin Geological Building in Vincent, Alabama, with projects located in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.

About The Role:

As a Construction-Drill Technician, you will support the fieldwork efforts on drilling and geo-structural projects throughout the southeastern United States, which include, but are not limited to, environmental drilling, remediation services, and the collection of soil, rock, and groundwater samples. Assisting the Lead Driller on a variety of projects and tasks.

• Work will include driving responsibilities, maintenance of field equipment, and operation and maintenance of small heavy equipment.
• Travel throughout the southeastern United States, up to 95% overnight
• Company provided Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., steel-toed boots, hard hats, high visibility gloves, and a vest) with the occasional use of a respirator and protective suit.

About You:

• You have a High School Diploma or GED
• You have 0-2 years of experience in construction or drilling
• You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English
• You have a valid driver's license
• You have a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A, a plus

You Are Willing and Able to:

Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:

• Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
• Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
• Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites

This full-time role offers competitive pay based on experience. Candidates must comply with our Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements.
