American Glass Company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator/CAD Designer to join our team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and creating precise CAD layouts for a variety of commercial glass and glazing projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the commercial glass and glazing industry, is proficient with CAD and estimation software, and has a keen eye for detail.
Compensation:
$50,000 - $75,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Prepare competitive and accurate bids and proposals by performing quantity take-offs from architectural drawings and blueprints.
- Create detailed and accurate fabrication drawings and frame layouts using CAD software.
- Order materials required for commercial projects, ensuring they align with project specifications and budget.
- Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met from the bidding stage through project completion.
- Review and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and bid documents.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Estimator and/or CAD Designer in the commercial glass and glazing industry.
- Proficiency with CAD software for frame layout and design.
- Strong knowledge of commercial glass systems, including storefront, curtain wall, and interior glazing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
