Overview
CEI is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Specialist to support field construction quality audits, documentation, and project coordination for the client. This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of construction inspections while helping ensure quality, compliance, and timely completion of assigned audit work.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the execution of overhead and underground construction duties.
- Investigates and monitors accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
- Instructs work site safety standards, conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards, and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
- Supports specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
- Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
- Reviews, resolves, and follows up on customer requests and complaints.
- Monitors performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives.
- Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff who perform tasks in the same function.
- Sets priorities for the team, assigns tasks, and checks work at regular intervals.
- Responsible for ensuring all work performed on the project meets or exceeds client, local, state, or federal standards and regulations.
- Updates JT or Polaris entry job documentation and maps for quality control and path verification.
- Acts as the primary contractor interface in the field and serves as liaison with regional network technicians.
- Ensures new or upgraded power supply is in place and operational prior to cut date.
- Maintains overall responsibility for product quality from contractor build through handoff to operations.
- Completes assigned audits across one or multiple locations.
- Verifies and reviews audit rework repairs and tasks to ensure timely completion.
- Completes documentation and daily computer-based work to close out completed audits.
- Provides phone support to help troubleshoot or clear jobs that were inspected.
- May join Teams calls or communicate directly with business partners as needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills
- Both coax and fiber construction experience are required.
- Experience with amplifiers, taps, main line cable, nodes, power supplies, fiber taps, and enclosures is required.
- Basic computer experience is required to use Microsoft tools, Smartsheet, Teams, and P2 daily.
- Construction quality audit experience is required.
- Experience completing field inspections and documentation is required.
- Ability to verify and review rework repairs and completed tasks is required.
- Ability to maintain accurate project and audit records is required.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Must be willing to travel as needed.
- Must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., by phone for troubleshooting support.
Skills
- Network Maintenance Technician experience is a plus.
- Reading design prints is a plus.
- Experience supporting field-based construction teams in an individual contributor role is .
