Position Overview
The Construction Coordinator will support the execution of Engineer Procure Construct (EPC), construction management, and program management projects across diverse industries including aviation, commercial construction, electrical transmission & distribution, facilities, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation, process, and water.
This role is responsible for assisting with project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, procurement, contracts, subcontractor management, documentation, reporting, project turnover, and field-based coordination. The Construction Coordinator will work closely with project managers, field teams, suppliers, and clients to support efficient project execution in alignment with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Client Support
- Assist in building and maintaining strong client relationships; interface with clients on proposals and project-related matters.
- Support the execution of prime contracts, subcontract agreements, and change orders.
Project Execution & Planning
- Assist with developing and implementing:
- Project Execution Plans
- Quality Assurance Plans
- Safety & Health Plans
- Subcontracting Plans
- Staffing Plans
- Organization Charts
- Procurement Plans
- Support mobilization and demobilization activities for jobsite setup.
- Aid in securing required project permits.
Procurement & Subcontractor Coordination
- Coordinate supplier and subcontractor registration and prequalification.
- Assist in the creation of RFP packages, bid solicitation, evaluation, and scope-of-work documents.
- Support subcontract administration including RFIs, submittals, change management, and claims mitigation.
Project Controls & Reporting
- Assist with cost reporting, scheduling, WBS development, project setup, and field progress tracking.
- Prepare internal and external reports including budgets, cost summaries, cash flow forecasts, and status reports.
- Participate in review meetings; take minutes and distribute documentation.
- Conduct safety, quality, financial, and progress audits as required.
Documentation & Administration
- Maintain project documentation systems, filing, and recordkeeping.
- Support turnover documentation, warranty administration, and project closeout.
- Assist with subcontractor, supplier, and prime contract invoice processing.
Field & Craft Support
- Assist with onboarding of craft and field supervision personnel.
- Analyze composite crew rates to support labor and equipment cost tracking.
- Monitor craft classifications, progression, training standards, and labor law compliance.
- Support estimating, forecasting, earned value analysis, and unit rate management.
- Coordinate construction equipment inventory and allocation.
Other
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
- Knowledge of document control systems, cost control tools, scheduling platforms, and project management software is preferred.
