H & B Concrete and Masonry is a respected and growing construction company serving the Phoenix area with high-quality concrete and masonry services. We are currently seeking an experienced Concrete Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial concrete estimating, is proficient in Procore, and thrives in building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Preconstruction:

• Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for concrete and masonry scopes.

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using industry-standard software and tools.

• Analyze project risks, value engineering options, and alternative methods to meet budget and schedule goals.

• Prepare and submit RFIs, budgets, proposals, and bid packages in a professional and timely manner.

• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and availability of materials.

• Develop and maintain cost databases and historical cost tracking.

Client Relations & Business Development:

• Represent the company in a professional manner during client meetings, site visits, and networking events.

• Schedule and attend lunches or meetings with potential and current clients to build trust and long-term relationships.

• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and project stakeholders throughout the bidding and preconstruction process.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure continuity from bid to build and maintain client satisfaction.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with project managers, field supervisors, and operations staff to support project planning and budgeting.

• Participate in internal handoff meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on scope, schedule, and cost expectations.

• Stay updated on industry trends, local market conditions, and competitor activity.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating concrete and/or masonry for commercial construction projects.

• Proficiency in Procore and strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, OST).

• Solid understanding of commercial construction practices, sequencing, and terminology.

• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.

• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication; confident interacting with clients and vendors.

• Self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be based in or near Phoenix, AZ (hybrid remote work available).

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $65,000–$95,000/year, depending on experience
