Compliance Coordinator

Job Description

Position Summary:

Operating Tax Compliance Coordinator must have an understanding of personal property tax statute. They represent Penske as the leader in the truck industry and must maintain professional and favorable relationships with all internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Be able to apply jurisdictional statute to maintain accurate filings, fair and equitable invoice payments

• Must identify and resolve possible appeals and abatements.

• Complete all monthly processes required to manage fixed assets, inventory, and vehicles, including asset reviews, classifications, and problem resolution

• Finalize and process all required documentation, valuation notices, appeals and tax bills in a timely manner for assigned states

• Interact with state/local agencies to ensure accurate assessments and payments.

• Other projects/tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree preferred. If no degree, equivalent work experience is required.

• Minimum of 3 years of General Accounting experience and Tax Rendition Processing preferred.

• Intermediate Microsoft, Work and Excel Knowledge.

• Professional communication, collaboration, and organization skills.

• High multi-tasking capabilities as well as managing priority deadlines.

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
