Position Summary:
Solar Gaines is growing and looking to add a
Commissioning Technician
to our expanding team. This role is critical during the final phase of our solar installation projects. You will work closely with project managers to commission systems, configure monitoring tools, troubleshoot issues, and prepare solar installations for operational handoff.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning solar systems and electrical components
Configure system monitoring tools and verify functionality
Review and complete system testing documentation
Troubleshoot technical issues related to solar equipment and monitoring platforms
Perform hands-on field work as needed
Ensure compliance with NEC codes and local electrical standards
Maintain strong communication with superintendents, project managers, and clients
Maintain and inspect assigned PPE, tools, and equipment
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years
of experience in PV installation and/or service (residential and commercial)
Strong understanding of
DC electrical systems
Familiarity with
NEC
and local codes related to PV installations
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer documentation
Solid problem-solving and coordination skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable lifting up to 60 lbs. and working from elevated environments
Proficient in using computers and system monitoring software
Experience with quality control and job site safety (OSHA standards)
Education & Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
OSHA 10 Certification
(required)
Valid driver's license (required)
Journeyman Electrician License ( but not required)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
8-hour shift
