Commissioning Engineer - Energy Systems\n\nLocation: Stone Head Office & Client Sites Across the UK\n\nSector: Energy / Automation & Control Systems\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Commissioning Engineer to join my clients growing Energy Business. The role involves testing and commissioning electrical Automation and Control Systems, ranging from minor system modifications to complete new or replacement installations.\n\nThis position is ideal for an existing Commissioning Engineer or Test Engineer who is keen to develop their site-based commissioning experience. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, working closely with customers, project teams, and site personnel.\n\nYou will be based between the Stone Head Office and client sites across the UK, contributing to installation, testing, and commissioning activities while developing your technical and leadership skills within an experienced and supportive team.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCarry out Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities in line with approved documentation\nSupport and perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)\nProvide technical supervision of installation works on client sites\nEnsure all installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with agreed procedures, methods, and standards\nProduce, collate, and manage the project commissioning file\nControl and mark up drawings and schematics following commissioning changes\nDevelop and review commissioning and test documentation\nDeploy and verify configuration files to SCADA systems, BCUs, RTUs, PLCs, IEDs, and network devices\nPrepare site equipment and materials for commissioning activities\nManage commissioning spares and test equipment\nControl Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) in line with safe working procedures and permits\nCarry out fault finding, ensuring issues are documented and resolved \n\nEssential Skills & Experience:\n\nQualification or proven experience in an Electrical Engineering discipline\nStrong understanding of test and commissioning methodologies\nExperience fault-finding electrical and electronic systems\nAbility to read and interpret drawings (GA, schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.)\nUnderstanding of electrical safety and isolation control (LOTO)\nCompetent with Microsoft Office for technical documentation\nExperience deploying and verifying configuration files to electrical devices\nExcellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel\nBS7671 18th Edition and C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing\nExperience working on Grid substations\nKnowledge of Substation Secondary Systems\nExperience with SCADA systems\nUnderstanding of communication networks and protocols (Ethernet, fibre optic, serial communications, etc.)Rullion celebrates and supports and is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for both employees and applicants
