Job Description
This is a W2 contract role supporting a large data center project in Reno, Nevada. The position offers 12 months of guaranteed work with the potential to extend based on project needs.
We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support and help lead the internal commissioning process and closeout of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety and fire sprinkler systems. This role is critical in ensuring full system functionality, compliance with design and performance standards and successful project turnover.
The position requires both client interaction and hands on field involvement, so a well rounded technical skillset is essential.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of commissioning experience
Data center experience but not essential
Strong understanding of MEP and fire protection systems
Ability to coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing day to day site commissioning activities and collaborate with project managers, contractors and discipline teams to resolve commissioning issues and ensure coordinated execution
- Work alongside the owner’s Commissioning Provider to execute commissioning plans for all MEP and fire protection systems including test requirements, inspections, factory start up and acceptance testing, integrated system testing and turnover documentation
- Review commissioning scripts, provide technical recommendations and ensure alignment with project design intent and performance objectives
- Participate in factory witness testing, functional performance testing, inspections and field verification activities
- Maintain accurate and timely technical documentation including checklists, issue logs, meeting minutes, field reports and commissioning reports
- Oversee planning and execution of specialized system testing including NETA, SCADA, controls integration and operational verification
