Job Description
Commissioning Service Engineer - HV/LV Switchgear\nYour Mission:\nTo perform installation, commissioning, modification and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment at UK and overseas locations. Travelling to various locations in UK & Overseas and work in flexible 24/7 cover in a rotating shift pattern.\nYour Key Responsibilities:\n * Supervise/perform the following activities (at UK, overseas and offshore locations) on switchgear, transformers and related equipment between the voltage range of 400v – 33kv.\n * Off-loading of new panels, switchgear and transformers.\n * Installation of new panels.\n * Commissioning of Electrical Equipment.\n * Wiring Modifications and Retrofit upgrades.\n * Planned Maintenance – From visual to intrusive across our product range.\n * Partial Discharge testing, thermal imaging, oil samples etc.\n * Systems testing and fault diagnosis.\n * Installation of EAA sensors and required hardware.\n * Working in a safe environment - Perform site risk assessments and assist in producing method statements.\n * Document test results and produce site work reports.\n * Contribute to the formulation of offers for site activities.\n * Assist with works tests when necessary.\n * Contribute to customer training activities.\n * Promote the Company’s service activities, identify and pursue business opportunities.\n * Participate in the OnCall rota system to provide emergency support to our customers 24/7.\n * Supervising personnel onsite which will include members of your own team and sub-contractors.\n * Liaising with the installation/project managers.\nImportant Criteria for this role:\n * Produce site reports/ test results within 2 working days of completing a contract.\n * Complete time sheets, expenses on a weekly basis.\n * Complete Health & Safety documentation on a weekly basis whilst in a supervisory role.\n * Complete Method Statements & Risk assessments within timescales set.\n * Complete installations & maintenance against agreed timescales.\nQualifications\nAbout You:\nPrevious working experience of installation, commissioning, maintenance & repair of switchgear & associated plant.\nHave experience of working alone and as part of a team at UK, overseas and offshore locations.\nBe customer/results focused and demonstrate a ‘service’ disposition.\nBe willing to work at nuclear, military and offshore locations.\nHold a full driving license.\nBe well grounded in the principles & application of electrical safety from the risks associated with live HV networks.\nDemonstrate appropriate underpinning knowledge in the form of academic qualifications (e.g. Degree/HNC) or relevant experience.\nGood experience of High Voltage Testing (415v – 33kv systems), CT Magnetisation Curves and CT Primary Injection.\nExperience of Relay Secondary Injection (Both electromechanical and solid state relays) and VT Primary Injection.\nExperience of Control Circuit Wiring testing & modification and Mechanical/Electrical function testing of 415v – 33kv switchboards & networks.\nAt Schneider Electric, & is at the heart of our organisation, it's an integral part of our history, culture, and .
