Job Description

Are you a proactive team player who enjoys problem-solving and seeing tasks through to completion? We're looking for motivated individuals to join our clients team as Commissioning Engineers in the control systems industry.\nAbout the Role\nWe’re looking for a practical and motivated Commissioning Engineer to join our Control Systems team. You’ll play a key role in bringing industrial automation projects to life — installing, testing, and commissioning equipment for customers across the UK and Ireland.\nThis is a hands-on role ideal for someone with an electrical, mechanical, or maintenance background who enjoys solving problems on-site and is keen to grow their skills in automation and control systems.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Commission, test, and troubleshoot control systems on-site.\n * Perform loop checks, I/O testing, and functional verification of automation systems.\n * Make minor changes to hardware and software to resolve problems.\n * Collaborate with project engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.\n * Complete commissioning documentation and test reports.\n * Provide technical support and training to clients during handover.\n * Ensure all activities comply with safety, quality, and company standards.\nSkills and Experience\n * Practical experience (minimum of 2 years) in electrical, mechanical, or industrial work (e.g.

maintenance, installation, or service).\n * Strong hands-on and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail.\n * Ability to read and understand basic wiring diagrams or engineering drawings.\n * Willingness to learn about automation, PLCs, and control systems (full training provided).\n * Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.\n * Enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in doing quality work.\n * Flexible and happy to travel to customer sites, working a mix of days and nights.\nDesirable\n * Some experience with automation, instrumentation, or industrial systems.\n * Familiarity with any PLC brands would be an advantage, but not essential.\nWorking Pattern\nThis role typically offers a balanced mix of both day and night shifts—approximately 50/50 overall. However, shift patterns may vary depending on the needs of each project. While some assignments may be entirely during the day, others may require night work only.

The 50/50 split is a general guideline, and actual shift allocation will be based on project-specific requirements at the time.\nWhy Join The Company?\n * \n Training & mentoring provided: We support professional growth and will help you build your skills in any areas you're less familiar with.\n * \n Diverse career stages welcomed: Whether you're early in your career or bringing years of experience, we have multiple roles and levels available.\n * \n Be part of a collaborative team: You'll work alongside experienced engineers in a supportive and inclusive environment.\nPackage\nBasic Salary £35,000 - £45,000 - OTE £60,000\nOvertime and premium rate hours\nCompany performance related bonus\n33 days holiday + 2 additional days every 5 years\nVehicle\nPension Scheme\nWellbeing Benefit
