Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Technician to support the programming and commissioning of industrial air filtration systems for Keller USA installations. This role requires a strong combination of PLC controls experience (Siemens and Allen-Bradley) and mechanical aptitude, including airflow measurement, system balancing, and troubleshooting. The technician will work closely with engineering, project management, and customer teams to ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and start up industrial air filtration and dust collection systems at customer facilities.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC controls using Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms.
  • Perform system verification including sensor validation and control loop testing.
  • Conduct airflow measurements, duct velocity checks, and system balancing to ensure proper system performance.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs during installation and commissioning.
  • Verify installation of fans, dampers, filters, ductwork, and instrumentation according to engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and control system issues during startup and operational testing.
  • Document commissioning activities including system settings, test results, and performance data.
  • Train customer personnel on system operation and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Work with engineering teams to implement field modifications or improvements when required.
  • Maintain safety compliance while working in industrial environments.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience programming or troubleshooting Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, including understanding of airflow, duct systems, fans, and filtration equipment.
  • Experience using measurement tools for airflow, pressure, and system performance testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% (primarily within North America).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in industrial environments.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial dust collection or air filtration systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety circuits and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Experience with control panels and industrial control standards.
  • OSHA safety training or other industrial safety certifications.
