We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support high-impact projects across the U.S. This role is ideal for a hands-on electrical engineering expert who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about ensuring system integrity through rigorous testing and validation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of power and control systems, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with project teams to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Commissioning Plans and Procedures:
- Create comprehensive test protocols to validate the performance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and emergency backup systems.
- System Testing:
- Perform functional testing on electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and motor control centers to ensure alignment with design specifications.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Document test results, analyze system performance data, and produce detailed reports outlining findings and any deviations.
- Troubleshooting and Corrective Action:
- Identify and resolve issues encountered during commissioning. Coordinate with contractors and vendors to implement necessary adjustments.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical safety codes and standards, including NEC and NETA requirements.
- On-Site Coordination:
- Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to effectively manage the on-site commissioning process.
- Technical Support:
- Provide expert-level support and guidance for complex issues related to electrical systems during the commissioning phase.
- Documentation and Project Handover:
- Prepare thorough commissioning documentation, including test records, punch lists, and final handover packages for the operations team.
- Travel Requirement:
- Site visits may be required up to 75% of the year, depending on project needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering concepts, including power and control systems
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing procedures and equipment
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for team collaboration
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and technical report
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field ()
Compensation and Travel Details:
- Pay Rate: $45 – $60 per hour (based on experience)
- Per Diem: $150-$175 per day
- Travel Pay: Equivalent to one day of per diem
