Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Commercial HVAC Service Manager who excels at leading field operations while driving service revenue and client satisfaction. This is not a back-office-only role — you will be actively engaged in the field with technicians and customers, helping scope opportunities, solve technical challenges, and grow revenue through strategic service offerings.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical HVAC expertise, customer-facing skills, and business acumen to manage service delivery, lead a team of technicians, and develop additional revenue opportunities through maintenance agreements, retrofits, and equipment upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Leadership & Customer Engagement (40%)
- Be regularly present on job sites to support technicians, solve complex service issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a technical and professional point-of-contact for key commercial clients.
- Participate in client meetings, job walks, and service consultations to identify solutions and upsell opportunities.
Revenue Growth & Business Development (30%)
- Identify and pursue opportunities for revenue growth through maintenance agreements, service upgrades, and retrofits.
- Collaborate with sales teams to scope and price service work and repairs.
- Track KPIs tied to service revenue, quoting performance, and conversion rates.
Team Management & Development (20%)
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commercial HVAC service technicians.
- Manage technician schedules, dispatching, and field productivity.
- Oversee safety compliance, technical training, and professional development initiatives.
Operational Oversight (10%)
- Monitor job progress, costs, and profitability of service work.
- Ensure adherence to service standards, documentation, and compliance protocols.
- Support the implementation of lean and efficient service processes.
- Work with dispatch to plan and organize to win each day.
- Manage Payroll and approve timecards (Monday)
- Attend weekly Manager meeting and communicate in rhythm company initiatives. (Wednesday)
- Host Bi-Weekly or Monthly Service meeting (Seasonal)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Commercial HVAC service
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VRF systems, and controls.
- Proven experience managing field teams and customer relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to drive service revenue and client retention.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- EPA Certification required; NATE or similar certifications a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
