Job Description
A respected specialist in passive fire protection—delivering high-quality firestopping, compartmentation and compliance-led solutions across major UK construction projects—is seeking a Commercial Manager to join its expanding Major Projects team.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a key commercial leadership position overseeing large-scale passive fire protection packages across complex construction environments. You will take ownership of commercial performance, cost control, reporting, and subcontractor management while supporting strategic project delivery across high-value schemes. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and clients to ensure commercial accuracy, contract compliance, and robust financial management.
The role is initially office-based 5 days a week in Southwark, with hybrid flexibility offered once settled.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Leading commercial management across multiple major projects\n\n * Full ownership of cost planning, forecasting, valuations and final accounts\n\n * Procurement and management of subcontractors and supply chain partners\n\n * Oversight of variations, change control and commercial risk\n\n * Ensuring contractual compliance across firestopping, compartmentation and associated disciplines\n\n * Supporting project strategy, reporting, and commercial governance\n\n * Providing mentorship and guidance to Assistant/Junior QS staff\n\nAbout You\n\n * Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor working with a fire protection specialist contractor\n\n * Strong commercial and contractual understanding, particularly within high-compliance sectors\n\n * Ability to manage multiple project packages and deadlines\n\n * Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills\n\n * Proactive, organised and commercially focused\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Salary: £55,000 - £65,000\n\n * Comprehensive benefits package\n\n * Annual bonus scheme\n\n * Opportunities for progression within a growing major projects division\n\n * Exposure to high-value, technically challenging fire protection schemes\n\n * Flexible attitude towards hybrid working\n\nIf this is an opportunity of interest and you have the suitable experience, please apply with a copy of your CV.
