Commercial Manager – Civils & Groundworks



Location: Lincolnshire / East Midlands

Salary: £Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits

About the Role



An established and respected civil engineering and groundworks contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team. The business operates across the East Midlands region, delivering a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial groundwork, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects.



This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute professional who can take ownership of all financial and contractual aspects of multiple projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and long-term client satisfaction.



Key Responsibilities



Lead and manage the commercial function across a range of civils and groundworks projects.



Oversee and support Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff within the business.



Manage tendering, estimating, cost control, and final accounts processes.



Provide accurate commercial reporting and forecasting to the senior management team.



Ensure all contractual obligations are met, including NEC and JCT forms of contract.



Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.



Contribute to continuous improvement across the commercial and operational teams.



About You



Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering or groundworks sector.



Strong understanding of residential infrastructure, roads, drainage, and groundworks packages.



Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.



Experience managing multiple projects and commercial teams simultaneously.



Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management.



Professional, proactive, and collaborative approach to project delivery.
