With further project wins that will see our client continue their works for the next 10+ years, We are recruiting a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial division, built up of currently 5no. with further hires incoming. This role will suit either an experienced Commercial Manager or an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor looking to take the step up in their career.\n\nRole Overview: Commercial Manager\n\nThe Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all commercial aspects of the projects and business overheads within their remit.

This includes developing and executing commercial strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing project efficiency, driving cost savings, and delivering high-quality commercial insight. Your strong commercial acumen will be essential in identifying and managing opportunities while minimising risk to the business.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nCommercial Team Leadership\n\nLead and support the commercial team across multiple projects ensuring their capability is met and nurtured.\n\nMentor team members to develop their commercial and contractual knowledge.\n\nMaximise margin through the review and improvement of commercial strategies.\n\nContractual advice during tender stages.\n\nEnhance commercial procedures and practices to improve overall performance.\n\nOversee the monthly commercial audit process and manage dispute resolutions.\n\nEnsure subcontractor processes are effectively managed to safeguard the company.\n\nAudit & Compliance\n\nGuarantee full compliance with company commercial procedures and corporate governance policies.\n\nConduct regular contract audits across regional projects.\n\nReporting and Governance\n\nConduct monthly reviews of project performance and contract results.\n\nPrepare and manage cashflow forecasts and Work in Progress (WIP) reports.\n\nMaintain accurate and timely monthly CVRs in line with business and unit needs.\n\nEnsure adherence to corporate governance and compliance requirements.\n\nReview and manage cost-to-complete forecasts across all project\n\nValuations and Cash Collection\n\nEnsure timely submission of valuations and optimise monthly claims.\n\nOversee the prompt collection of cash and manage final account settlements.\n\nHandle claims preparation, compensation event processes, and negotiations.\n\nEnsure all cost information is accurate and submitted within deadlines.\n\nKey Measures\n\nTimely and accurate cash collection and WIP reporting\n\nAchievement of contract margins and proactive risk management\n\nEfficient final accounting processes to protect and enhance margins\n\nEssential Requirements\n\nProven experience managing a team of Quantity Surveyors\n\nDegree-qualified or equivalent experience\n\nBackground in civil engineering, including utilities\n\nIn-depth knowledge of various contract forms and strong contractual expertise, Specifically NEC3 Target Cost\n\nDemonstrated experience in developing and implementing commercial procedures\n\nExperience in managing budgets in excess of £10m\n\nStrong problem-solving ability and decision-making skills\n\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, \n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines\n\nIt is likely this will be a 2 stage interview process, a first stage via Teams and the second and final stage in person.\n\nGanymede is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer.
