Seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Field Service Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of HVAC service operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial HVAC systems, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering top-tier customer service. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality service delivery, while also mentoring and managing a team of technicians.
The ideal candidate has 7-15 years of Commercial HVAC Field Service Manager experience and is looking to join a growing company.
The position is paying up to $160K and the company would like to interview ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations:
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
- Directly manage Lead Technicians and Field Supervisors across HVAC and related trade services (Electrical, Plumbing, General Services).
- Dispatch technicians to service calls and projects in a timely and strategic manner.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate technician performance and customer satisfaction.
- Respond to escalated customer issues and ensure they are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Train and develop technicians in both field and office settings (including safety, technical skills, and documentation).
- Monitor service metrics and labor costs, ensuring goals are met and labor is controlled.
- Support overflow service calls and assist with installations as needed based on workload.
Customer Relations & Business Support:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with sales and account management teams to support upselling and client retention.
- Assist in estimating, quoting, and reviewing project requirements.
- Work with teams to address and resolve client issues.
- Ensure all customer service efforts reflect a commitment to quality and professionalism.
Administrative & Team Support:
- Coordinate hiring efforts.
- Support HR with technician attendance tracking and performance documentation.
- Manage and maintain branch vehicle fleet (safety, maintenance, paperwork, tool inventory).
- Enforce company policies and, when necessary, support HR in managing disciplinary actions.
- Help build and maintain vendor and subcontractor databases.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in Commercial HVAC field service.
- Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within the HVAC or mechanical trades.
- Strong understanding of advanced HVAC, refrigeration, and heating principles.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience in dispatching, project quoting, and cost control.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in basic technology tools for communication and documentation.
- Customer-first mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Prior sales or account management experience is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- This position includes both office and field work as needed.
- Must be available to respond to emergency service calls 24/7 (unless alternate coverage is arranged).
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
