We are urgently seeking an individual with DDC controls experience preferably with commercial and industrial HVAC experience.
The HVAC Controls Technician at AMS works with limited supervision and is empowered to make decisions beyond those typically found in such a position within our industry. They are assigned tasks that they for the most part prioritize on their own. Some of the day to day responsibilities are as follows:
Applicants should possess the following skills…
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of Experience in the Commercial HVAC Industry
- -A firm understanding of large systems.
- - The ability to understand and create complex system wiring diagrams.
- - A strong understanding of the refrigerant circuit.
- - Strong understanding of Windows computers and their use.
- - Good relational skills.
- - Good customer service skills.
- - Formal secondary education in the HVAC industry.
- - Good writing skills.
Also, helpful skills…
- - Trane controls experience.
- - ASI Controls experience.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling of themselves and sub-contractors
- Management of themselves and sub-contractors.
- HVAC and control system diagnostic work.
- Minor HVAC repair.
- Control system diagnosis and repair.
- Control system installation (new construction).
- Estimating (controls and mechanical).
- Project management.
- Control system retrofit.

Compensation
We provide outstanding compensation in the form of hourly wages, fully funded medical insurance, bonuses, and paid time off. Our compensation package often meets or exceeds those offered by our competition.
The pay range for this position varies depending on skill ($45,000.00 to $104,000.00).

Our primary market is to local air-conditioning contractors supporting them with various control as well as other associated needs. Those needs may be controls service support, mechanical service support, control maintenance contracts and test & balance.
We also have accounts in which we provide mechanical as well as controls services directly to the owner or property management firm. With these accounts, we typically limit our mechanical service to troubleshooting and minor repairs.
