Commercial Gas Engineer – Oxford Region Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 + Benefits\n Location: Oxford (3 days based at a static site, 2 days mobile across the region)\n Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time\n Sector: Facilities Management / Building Services\n\n Overview:\n Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their technical team supporting a prestigious client portfolio across the Oxford region. Working predominantly across historic and diverse buildings in Oxford, this role offers a varied and rewarding workload, combining planned maintenance, reactive repair and combustion service work across multiple sites.\n\n The Role:\n The Commercial Gas Engineer will be responsible for carrying out inspection, service, maintenance and repair on a wide range of commercial gas boilers, heating plant, and associated systems. The position involves ensuring compliance with statutory standards, client specifications and BGIS safety procedures while maintaining high levels of service delivery and professionalism.\n\n Key Responsibilities:\n\nPerform PPM, reactive and remedial works on commercial gas systems and HVAC plant.\nRespond to breakdowns and critical faults across multiple client sites, ensuring systems are made safe and restored to service promptly.\nConduct gas testing and purging in accordance with IGE and British Standards.\nMaintain accurate records, logbooks and Gas Safe documentation.\nCollaborate with supervisors and service managers to ensure works are completed within time and budget parameters.\nManage and supervise subcontractors, ensuring adherence to permits, safe systems of work and H&S policies.\nDiagnose and repair components such as pipework, valves, burners, pumps, fans, and control systems.\nOperate and monitor BMS and environmental systems, maintaining optimal building conditions.\nContribute to energy efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupport emergency response outside normal working hours when required.Candidate Requirements:\n\nACS Qualified Gas Engineer with current certification covering Core Safety, Indirect Fired Appliances and Commercial Pipework.\nRecognised City & Guilds or NVQ in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent).\nStrong working knowledge of commercial gas and HVAC systems, including boilers, controls, and combustion.\nSkilled in reading technical drawings and electrical schematics.\nProven experience in a critical or facilities management environment.\nExcellent communication skills – both verbal and written.\nConfident working independently or as part of a multi-skilled team.\nFull UK Driving Licence.Why Apply?\n\nWork in some of the most prestigious and technically advanced buildings in Oxford.\nCompetitive salary and benefits package.\nOpportunity to work within a reputable FM company with career progression and training support.\nVaried workload across both static and mobile settings
