Job Description

TEKsystems is partnering with a top client in the design, deployment, optimization, management, and maintenance of IP-based Integrated Security, Audio-Visual and Data Networking systems, our client can meet the needs of clients on a scale, while providing local support. Our client is seeking to hire a team of top Field Security Technicians in the Dallas area.

SUMMARY

A security technician installs, maintains, tests, and repairs physical and digital security systems, including access control, video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, and computer network security tools. Key responsibilities involve reading blueprints, wiring low-voltage circuits, troubleshooting system malfunctions, performing preventive maintenance, providing user support, and managing documentation and parts inventory. The role requires strong technical skills, the ability to interpret technical manuals, a valid driver's license, and often involves physical work and adherence to safety protocols.

JOB DUTIES

  • Install, service, and repair of mag locks, electric strikes, door hardware and access control systems for commercial clients
  • Maintains customer rapport by resolving concerns and answering questions with the focus of building long-term relationships.
  • Plans security system installations by surveying and evaluating location by identifying alarm installation requirements while laying-out equipment and wiring plans.
  • Verifies access/CCTV systems functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals; identifying and correcting problems.
  • Maintains records by documenting installation and service.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

ADDITONAL INFORMATION

  • Minimum of 2 years+ in the low voltage/security industry either residential or commercial
  • W-2 Contract to Hire
  • Salary/Pay based upon previous industry experience

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
