(New Orleans, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Commercial Electrical Engineer for a direct hire position with a confidential client. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity offering long-term career growth in a collaborative environment.
Essential Duties:
- Design and develop electrical systems for commercial buildings, with a strong focus on lighting, power, and special systems.
- Create lighting designs that balance technical requirements with aesthetics, ensuring functionality and visual impact.
- Engineer and coordinate special systems such as fire alarms, low-voltage systems, data, and emergency power.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to integrate electrical systems into overall building design.
- Perform site inspections and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Use Revit and CAD to produce accurate, detailed electrical designs and documentation.
- Stay current with evolving design technologies, including AI-assisted tools.
Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- PE license , but not required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial electrical design (non-industrial).
- Proficiency in Revit and CAD is
- Strong background in lighting design—must understand both the aesthetics and technical aspects of lighting, not just system connectivity.
- Experience with special systems (fire alarms, low-voltage, data, emergency power) strongly desired.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices (LEED, solar, or historical project work) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and professional presence for client interaction and project meetings.
- Commitment to long-term employment with opportunities for growth.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel locally for site inspections and client meetings.
- Primarily office-based position with flexible scheduling; occasional remote work possible in special cases.
