Commercial Director (Solar PV and Wind)

Job Description A Renewable Energy developer and investor is currently on the lookout for a Commercial Director, who will be the leader of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of PV Solar and wind projects in South Africa.Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction or SimilarMinimum of 10 years of experience, with industry experience within Renewable Energy, Power Utilities, Manufacturing, and or ConstructionMinimum of 5 years senior-level managerial experienceProject Management Knowledge.Industry Specific Knowledge.Risk Management Knowledge.OSH Act & other applicable Health & Safety Acts based on environment.Tender & Project process & procedure.Detailed understanding of the design and operation of modern protection relay technology and substation automation and its application through to commissioning.Detailed understanding of the design of primary electrical plant in transmission and distribution substations.Detailed understanding of design and operation of substation control systems through to SCADA systems (Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition).A working knowledge of the civil and mechanical engineering aspects of substations and overhead power lines.Strong commercial mindset with a solid knowledge of Project and Corporate Finance conceptsStrong understanding of the renewable energy industry, its drivers, KPIs, and decision processesStrong existing network in the South African renewable energy sectorAt least 8 - 10 years of work experience in the South African Renewable Energy Project Development and/or EPC Sales sectorLocation: Midrand, GautengSalary: R2 million – R1.3 million per annum When applying, please use reference number: CD20220830DOSM
