Job Description

ESCAPE THE SEATTLE RAT AND BUILD SOMETHING REAL

Tired of the daily grind, endless traffic, and sky-high taxes of Seattle? Dreaming of a place where your commute doesn’t involve brake lights and your weekends actually feel like weekends? Welcome to Spokane; the laid-back, family-friendly, four-seasons side of the Pacific Northwest where life slows down just enough to enjoy it.

Us:

We’re Walker Construction, a trusted commercial general contractor since 1983. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding construction solutions from urban renovations and multifamily housing to industrial facilities, higher‑education campuses, and healthcare centers. We have an outstanding reputation and a portfolio that’s as diverse as our hometown.

Our work includes Spokane landmarks like the historic Fox Theater, Looff Carrousel, and the Macy’s Building, plus major projects in higher education, K-12 schools, tribal facilities, senior living, multi-family housing, affordable housing, and government buildings.

We’re proud of what we’ve built and we’re not slowing down. Our continued growth means we’re looking for experienced Project Managers ready to make their mark on Spokane’s skyline (and beyond).

You:

  • A skilled commercial construction Project Manager ready to take on new challenges in Design-Build, GC/CM, and Hard Bid delivery methods.
  • Passionate about leading teams, building relationships, and driving success - without sacrificing your sanity.
  • Looking for a company that values collaboration, innovation, and growth just as much as you do.

Why Walker?

Because we take work-life balance seriously, it's not just as a buzzword. We offer a 4-10 work schedule so you can enjoy three-day weekends, more time for family, and a little breathing room between projects. Add in a supportive team culture, challenging and meaningful work, and a leadership group that actually listens - you’ll see why people stay here.

Relocation assistance is available. We’ll help you make the move from the chaos of I-5 to the calm of I-90 East.

Come join one of Spokane’s leading General Contractors and help us build the next of remarkable projects - and a life you actually enjoy living.

What You’ll Do:

  • Successfully bid construction projects to manage.
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Review the work progress on daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Deliver projects on schedule and under budget.
  • Ensure owner satisfaction with construction process and end result.

Must-Haves for This Role

  • 4+ years of commercial construction experience, including project management and estimating
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, means, codes, and safety practices
  • Experience managing projects $5M-$10M
  • Ability to read plans, scope trades, and develop accurate bids
  • Comfortable juggling both pre-con and construction responsibilities
  • Proficiency with construction management software
  • Natural leadership, clear communication, and big-picture thinking
  • BS degree in Construction Management or equivalent field experience
  • Proven experience fostering community partnerships and professional networks

What We Offer:

Job Type: Full-time

Competitive Salary: $100K - $150K

  • Year-end bonus potential
  • Work-Life balance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, vision, dental and life insurance
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Relocation assistance available
  • Supportive leadership and an experienced field team
  • Projects you’ll be proud to put your name on
