Job DescriptionJob Description

De Jager Construction, Inc is looking for a project Estimator to work out of our Grand Rapids, MI office. We are a Commercial General Contractor, based in West Michigan and specializing in Retail construction across the United States. Our projects generally consist of new store build outs & existing store remodels. We are looking for the right candidate to be a part of our team as we continue our mission of building lasting relationships based on integrity and experience while providing quality and value through our construction services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Review bid packages received from clients.
• Prepare project scopes for the bid department to use in communication with subcontractors.
• Answer subcontractors questions about the project during the bidding phase.
• Calculating and compiling quantity and materials takeoff data for use in bid proposal estimates.
• Process revisions on bid projects as needed.
• Qualify subcontractor proposals to confirm accuracy for each trade.
• Prepare estimates and formal client proposals for submittal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All prospective candidates must have the ability to read plans, interpret project specifications, be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicate effectively and represent the company in a professional manner. The ideal candidate will have general estimating experience with a focus on Retail or Commercial construction, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and be experienced with or be willing to learn digital takeoff programs.
