Growing commercial construction company, is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and be capable of providing essential assistance to both our estimating department and project management team. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can manage multiple tasks, collaborate effectively with teams, and contribute to the success of our projects
- Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, encompassing materials, labor, and equipment.
- Aid in reviewing project plans, specifications, and related documents to accurately define project scope and requirements.
- Assist quantity take-offs and compile accurate lists of required materials and labor for project estimation.
- Collaborate closely with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and ensure the accuracy of cost estimates.
- Organize and maintain bids, plans, and project documentation using company software, ensuring accessibility and organization for future reference.
- Assist the preparation and timely submission of bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
- Support the Pre-Construction ManagerĀ in analyzing project costs, identifying potential cost savings, and developing value engineering solutions.
- Update and maintain estimating databases and historical cost data to support ongoing and future projects.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as required to support project activities.
- Maintain awareness of critical project dates such as site visits and submission deadlines.
- Assist in tracking and managing changes to project scope, updating estimates and documentation accordingly.
- Perform administrative tasks to assist the estimating department, project managers, and field personnel.
- Generate Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents and initiate Requests for Information (RFIs) as necessary to support project needs with clear and comprehensive documentation of project requirements.
- Assist with obtaining and processing shop drawings and submittals
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, including knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Buildertrend, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines
