Job Description

C#.NET / SSIS / Business Intelligence Engineer | Power & Gas Commodities Trading / Regulatory Reporting | £115,000–£120,000 + Strong Bonus | Hybrid / London

A C#.NET / SSIS / Business Intelligence Engineer is required by a leading commodities trading house. In this business-critical role, you’ll work across Front Office and Risk functions to deliver high-quality data integration, reporting, and analytics solutions that directly support trading operations in power, gas, and emissions markets.

This is a hybrid technical and business-facing role, combining C# application development with data engineering and BI expertise. You’ll design, build, and maintain ETL processes (SSIS), integrate data from multiple trading systems, and develop business intelligence solutions that drive performance insight, risk transparency, and regulatory compliance.

The firm is a well-established market leader in commodities trading, with over 25 years of consistent growth. As part of their continued expansion, they’re investing heavily in business intelligence and analytics capabilities to strengthen decision-making and reporting accuracy across all trading desks.

Remuneration

• Salary: £115,000–£120,000 base + 20% bonus
• Benefits: 25 days holiday, private medical and dental insurance, health coverage, and a strong pension scheme
• Working Model: Hybrid – typically 3 days per week in-office
• Office Location: Near Old Street Station, London

Experience Needed

• Strong experience developing C#.NET Core applications integrated with data and reporting systems
• Advanced SQL Server skills, including SSIS (ETL design, automation, and optimisation)
• Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
• Proven experience in data modelling, stored procedures, and data warehousing
• Previous exposure to commodities trading or broader financial services highly desirable
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks (MiFID, EMIR, Dodd-Frank, etc.) advantageous
• Understanding of data pipelines, APIs, and system integrations
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Agile experience (Kanban or Scrum) and ability to work independently in small collaborative teams
