Job Description: At Sterling, cloud computing allows us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next- innovation. To continue this transformation, we’re seeking an experienced cloud pre-sales architect who has expertise in the implementation of different projects in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of cloud technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud architecture and solutioning, as well as advanced industry knowledge are essential to keep Sterling on the cutting edge. The cloud architect will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of Cloud sales, and have ongoing impact on our cloud business growth.
Required Technical Skills: Our Cloud Pre-Sales Architect should be proficient in AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle offerings and ability to provide architectural design, and guidance. Experience using Salesforce—or similar CRM—is desired. General Microsoft office proficiency is required.
Required Education/Experience: The Cloud Pre-Sales Architect should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the public cloud and prior experience with IT administration is desired. Additionally, understanding of pre-sales role, within the cloud space is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field is .

Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and build cloud solutions integral to all customers with the major public cloud vendors
- Ability to speak to IaC, DevOps, AI, and FinOps competently with confidence at the executive level
- Train learn and understand new cloud technologies that could be used to improve current solutions.
- Communicate with teams regularly to identify opportunities and potential issues, document key requirements and decision markers to assist in agreed solution direction.
- Understanding of and experience assessing the five pillars of the well-architected framework.
- Receive and respond to customer requests for information, questions, and assistance in solutioning through phone and email.
- Communicate with distributors, manufacturers, partners, and resellers to collect pricing and product information for preparation of quotations.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activity in Salesforce.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior level account managers or VP of Engineering.
