Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA (In-office Tuesday–Thursday; Remote Monday & Friday)
Compensation: $130,000–$140,000 base + bonus (up to $7,500)

A private, high-growth software company serving the self-funded medical benefits ecosystem is seeking an Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. The company’s platform enables stop-loss carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators to streamline quoting, underwriting, and policy administration. Its leadership team is deeply committed to building customer-centric, secure, and scalable technologies that unify stakeholders across the benefits landscape.

This role is hybrid, with three anchor days (Tuesday through Thursday) in the company’s Atlanta office and remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Cloud Engineering & Cybersecurity and is critical to maintaining, optimizing, and modernizing the company’s Azure infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Engineering & Infrastructure

  • Deploy and manage Azure services, including VNets, subnets, VPN Gateways, Application Gateway, Azure Front Door, ExpressRoute, Bastion, and NSGs.

  • Administer VMs, Storage Accounts, Azure SQL (PaaS), Key Vault, and implement data encryption best practices.

  • Plan and execute migrations from on-premise to Azure environments, ensuring minimal service disruption.

  • Design and test disaster recovery and backup strategies aligned with RPO/RTO objectives.

  • Build and maintain integrations with Logic Apps, Azure Monitor, Data Factory, Event Hub, and Automation Accounts.

, Access & Security

  • Manage Entra ID (Azure AD), including App registrations, Service Principals, and conditional access.

  • Enforce RBAC, MFA, secure secrets via Key Vault, and apply TLS/SSL protocols.

  • Collaborate with security stakeholders to ensure compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, HITECH, and HiTrust standards.

Governance, Automation & DevOps Support

  • Implement environment provisioning automation across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production using Terraform.

  • Enforce governance via Azure Policies, tagging standards, and cost controls aligned with FinOps practices.

  • Collaborate on CI/CD pipeline integration using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

  • Monitor and log performance using Azure Monitor, Datadog, and Log Analytics; establish alerting protocols.

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Create and maintain operational runbooks, infrastructure documentation, and knowledge transfer materials.

  • Provide day-to-day support across engineering and infrastructure teams.

  • Participate in team standups, architecture discussions, and periodic strategy reviews.

Candidate Profile:

Required:

  • 7–10 years in IT infrastructure or support, including 3+ years focused on Azure environments.

  • Hands-on experience across key Azure services, infrastructure as code (Terraform), and secure cloud configurations.

  • Deep familiarity with serverless computing, application hosting, cloud networking, and monitoring tools.

  • Ability to navigate fast-paced environments with high accountability and minimal supervision.

  • Experience supporting HIPAA or SOC 2-compliant systems.

  • Strong understanding of SSO, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), conditional access, and architecture.

  • Exposure to Datadog, Azure Monitor, and enterprise observability tools.

  • No requirement for a formal degree if hands-on experience and expertise are strong.

Culture & Environment:
This is a flat, collaborative environment with a hands-off, trusting leadership approach. The infrastructure team operates like a startup within an established software organization. The successful candidate will be relied upon as a key contributor and technical stabilizer, particularly in the first 30 to 90 days while institutional infrastructure knowledge is transitioned.

The company offers team lunches on-site every Tuesday, monthly social events, and amenities such as a cafeteria and informal rec spaces. There is no micromanagement – but high expectations for quality, ownership, and follow-through.
