Summary

Lead the design, implementation, and governance of secure, scalable, and resilient Azure cloud solutions. Act as a bridge between engineering, security, and business teams to ensure cloud environments meet both performance and compliance requirements.

We’re seeking candidates with strong engineering fundamentals who are energized by the opportunity to help drive Apex’s transformation toward agentic development—leveraging cloud- automation, AI-powered workflows, and secure, scalable architectures to advance healthcare solutions.

This role reports directly to the VP, Technology, providing opportunities for strategic impact and cross-functional collaboration at the leadership level.

Key Responsibilities

• Enablement of Azure-based solutions and capabilities through partnership with infrastructure, development, and security teams.
• Design and automation of secure, reliable methods for monitoring and deploying solutions across the cloud infrastructure.
• Assist in management of data pipelines and troubleshooting deployments.
• Define and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and best practices.
• Support threat modeling, risk assessments, and security reviews for Azure workloads.
• Integrate and access management (IAM), encryption, and monitoring solutions.
• Provide technical leadership in incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Stay current with Azure advancements, cybersecurity threats, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Collaborate with peer teams to raise the overall fluency of Azure

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience & Skills:

• Skilled in deploying and managing Azure Function Apps, Azure Container Apps, Azure Static Web Apps, and Azure AI Foundry resources.
• Familiarity with DevOps/DevSecOps practices (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Expertise in Azure Security Center, Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, and Azure Policy.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
• Knowledge of Intune, SSO, Conditional Access, Sentinel, and Microsoft Purview.
• Strong background in cloud engineering, networking, and security architecture.
• Knowledge of HIPAA/HITRUST .
