What would you do as a Cloud Architect - Expert Level

As a key technical leader at Mission Intelligence Group, the Expert Cloud Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the cloud strategy for the Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). This position involves overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of secure, scalable cloud architectures that align with NGA's mission and operational requirements. You will drive cloud transformation initiatives that foster a culture of successful cloud adoption, while also architecting innovative solutions that enhance the agency's capabilities. Your expertise will guide strategic cloud planning, ensuring that enterprise strategies are developed and refined for effective migration and optimization of cloud services. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and oversight to a diverse team of architects, ensuring that all projects adhere to NGA standards and best practices.

Excellent leadership and communication skills will enable you to mentor a diverse team of Cloud Architects, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with established standards.

Additionally, strategic thinking and adaptability are necessary to refine enterprise cloud strategies and guide the successful adoption and optimization of cloud solutions within NGA's evolving technical landscape. Your proactive approach and commitment to high-quality outcomes will be key drivers of success in this vital role.

Required Skills and Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
• 18 years of experience in cloud-based systems architecting is required and may be considered in lieu of degree.
• One or more Cloud Certifications such as:
  • Cloud Certified Solutions Architect
  • AWS Certified
  • Cisco Certified Networking Administrator – Cloud
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional – Cloud
  • IBM Certified Cloud Solution Architect
  • MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP7-CMA)
• Experience with NGA
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Previous working experience in government or industry, within Cloud Architect profession.
• Experience architecting solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data.
• Experience architecting solutions using Automation, Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence
• Experience architecting solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering.
