Join Pride Health as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at San Juan Capistrano, CA! This is a 4-months contract role offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment.
Role: Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Location: 33608 Ortega Hwy, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675
Shift Schedule:
Shift: 1st Shift
Available Schedules:
- Sunday – Thursday | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Wednesday – Sunday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Shift: 2nd Shift
Available Schedules:
- Wednesday–Sunday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Sunday–Thursday | 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Shift: 3rd Shift
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday | 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Highlights: $45-55/hour (Based on years of experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform moderate to highly complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Conduct newly introduced laboratory tests requiring advanced technical skills.
- Prepare and oversee reagents, stock solutions, standards, and controls; evaluate new reagents and controls as needed.
- Determine the acceptability of specimens based on established criteria.
- Calculate, interpret, and verify test results using manual and automated methods.
- Accurately document and enter test results; ensure compliance with turnaround time standards.
- Assess validity and reliability of analytical data before releasing results.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to critical or unexpected results, documenting corrective actions.
- Perform instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct quality control checks, linearity studies, accuracy, and precision testing.
- Select and evaluate control materials; initiate corrective action when systems deviate from acceptable limits.
- Perform and document proficiency testing in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Train and supervise unlicensed laboratory personnel as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory work environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new methods and instrumentation.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and environmental protocols.
- Handle waste disposal properly and comply with all relevant laboratory regulations.
- Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all professional activities.
- Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.0
Qualifications:
Education: BS in Medical Technology or life/physical sciences from an accredited college or university.
Experience: 0–3 years direct laboratory experience
Licensure: Current California CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) license required.
Note: Local candidates and travelers both are eligible
